Even my country looks small, our culture is strong enough. Especially Seoul which is the capital of South Korea has many great places to visit.

Gyeongbokgung is one of the most popular tourist spots in Korea. It was built in 1395 as the main palace of the newly founded Josun dynasty. Because of its historical significance and beauty of wooden buildings, every year, many tourists from the world visit Gyeongbokgung. Moreover, here is the filming site of Korean historical dramas or movies like “The Kingdom (Netflix original series)”. So, if you love K-drama, walking in Gyeongbokgung will be an exciting experience.

If you’re running short on time to explore all of Gyeongbokgung, we would like to recommend at least these three points. First, Geunjeongjeon, the largest and most formal hall in the palace. Second is Gyeonghoiroo where you can enjoy a sweeping view of the palace and Mount Inwang. The last is Gangnyeongjeon where the kings resided. You can even watch the private rooms of formal kings and queens. With these three points, it is safe to say that you have seen the major parts of Gyeongbokgung.

There are some tips for you before visiting Gyeongbokgung.

1. The entrance fee is totally free if you are wearing a hanbok! Hanbok (Korean traditional clothes) and the palace go well together, so you can get amazing pictures.

2. Visit around 10 am or 2 pm. Every 10 am / 2 pm has guard changing ceremony. The ceremony is very colourful and magnificent.

If you want to learn our culture more, we still have 4 more palaces where has own unique point around the main palace. It would be a good chance to fell in Korea deeply!
